Remebering MJ, the local way.

Someone left us a comment asking us if we were going to blog about the departure of pop icon Michael Jackson. And over dinner with friends last night, everyone agreed that regardless of how our music choices had diverged in the past decade, we were all familiar with MJ’s music when we were growing up. Of the 5 of us at the table, 3 of us had been to his concert.

To blog about him, I intend to stay true to our 175proof.com and stick to the subject of drinking experiences. Even though the tributes have been pouring in, the only anecdote I found about his favourite drink was something called “jesus juice”.  What I did uncover, were several bloggers paying tribute to the man by drinking an old familiar drink that’s commonly served in Singapore and Malaysia… a combination of soya bean milk and grass jelly. Read how it’s prepared.

It’s not served with alcohol, but no one said you can’t add a dash Bailey’s to it!
